CULTURAL EXPERIENCE FACILITATORS FOR NGA INDIGENOUS CULTURAL TOURS

REQUEST FOR QUOTATION

The National Gallery of Australia (NGA) is seeking submissions from suitably qualified Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander professionals to facilitate the cultural experience components of NGA Indigenous Cultural Tours being introduced in 2018. The Indigenous Cultural Tours will be promoted by the NGA to the inbound tourism market.   Indigenous Cultural Tours will be offered at least once per month for the public.  Additional requests by group tour providers will be met, based on the availability of the Indigenous Cultural Experience Facilitators.

We are seeking experienced Indigenous Cultural Experience Facilitators with a strong track record in providing authentic Indigenous cultural experiences to adult tour groups 18+ years of age.   They will lead a creative, engaging and culturally insightful program for the NGA Indigenous Cultural Tour groups. 


Submissions will be assessed against the following Essential Selection Criteria:

  • Strong commitment to sharing Indigenous culture and working within formal or informal arts and education environments;

  • Experience in Indigenous cultural experiences for tour groups;

  • High level of self-motivation and the ability to work independently, supervising a diverse tour group;

  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and the confidence and to adapt the Indigenous Cultural Experience to the needs of tour groups if required;

  • High level of creativity, practicality and an excellent track record in communicating Indigenous culture;

  • Commitment to the NGA and making the Indigenous Cultural Tours successful;

  • Certificate of Currency for Public Liability Insurance cover ($2,000,000), an ABN and a current Working with Vulnerable People card.
