Arts & Culture Maribyrnong is now accepting Expressions of Interest from LGBTQIA+ artists, or artists/groups interested in working within this community, to perform in the Bluestone Church Arts Space in Footscray as part of Midsumma Festival 2019.
Midsumma Festival is Victoria's premier queer arts and cultural Festival, for and by LGBTQIA+ communities and will run 20 January to 10 February 2019. Registrations for Midsumma Festival close on 9 August 2018, at midnight.
The Bluestone Church Arts Space is a flexible performance space located at 8A Hyde Street, Footscray (behind Footscray Town Hall). The former Wesleyan Church is just minutes’ walk from Footscray Station, and as a dedicated arts and performance venue, is continuing the legacy of being a place where community comes together.
Offering an open plan, flat wooden floor space and exceptionally high ceilings, the Church offers a performance area of approximately 120m². The venue is suitable for small-scale performances including comedy, cabaret, live music, dance, theatre or similar. It can comfortably seat 40, and has capasity for higher audiences if rostra is hired by the user.
