The Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition & Festival, one of Australia’s richest and most prestigious programs for young pianists, will be held Sunday 3rd to Friday 15th September 2017 at Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, South Bank, Brisbane.
The 10th edition will again feature some of the best young pianists in Australia & New Zealand vying for place in the finals, with over $60,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs including the $25,000 first-prize. The competition provides an exceptional opportunity for these young pianists to compete for international recognition, future concert engagements and cash prizes culminating in a dazzling final concert with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra on Friday 15 September 2017.
It’s the only major piano event in Australia that mirrors the requirements of an international competition, such as a demanding repertoire, national and international jury members, all rounds open to the public, and the final round concertos performed with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. Respected nationally and internationally, it’s a significant opportunity for young pianists to advance their craft and performance skills, with many of the event’s alumni now performing with major orchestras and cultural institutions in Australia and internationally.
Applications for the 2017 Competition can be made online at www.lev-vlassenko.com, closing Friday 31 March 2017.
All eligible applicants will be required to attend a live audition throughout May 2017, with the 20 finalists selected to enter the Competition announced in July 2017. For information, eligibility and audition requirements, please visit www.lev-vlassenko.com
