What's On

Wicked

In January of 2018, the Young Australian Broadway Chorus (YABC) will mount its most ambitious season to date – a production of the hit Broadway musical WICKED, with a main cast of young people aged 15-21.

This is an amazing opportunity for talented young performers to experience the intensive rehearsal process that goes into creating a major musical production, as well as the thrill of performing an iconic work like WICKED for a 10 performance run. The rehearsals and performances will take place in the school holidays in December 2017/January 2018.

Auditions for the YABC production of WICKED will be held in August 2017. Information below.
The YABC is well known for its programmes and productions for young people. Each year, thousands of children and young adults participate in musical theatre training with the organisation, culminating in incredible seasons of concerts at the National Theatre.

In addition, the YABC has produced many independent theatre seasons including Spring Awakening (2011 – Melbourne Premiere), Seussical TYA (Malthouse Theatre & Adelaide Fringe Festival 2013), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Malthouse Theatre & Adelaide Fringe Festival 2014), The Secret Garden (Southbank Theatre 2016) Honk Jr (Southbank Theatre & Adelaide Fringe Festival 2017), plus many productions in the Disney Junior Series, including Beauty and the Beast Jr, Alice in Wonderland Jr, Aladdin Jr and The Little Mermaid Jr. In July 2017, YABC will present a 10 performance season of Shrek Jr at the Union Theatre.
