Touring a theatre production is an important way for theatres, writers and directors to access new audiences. It’s also a potential tangled mess of logistics, from calculating the size of the trucks required to haul enormous sets across the country, to keeping track of the props and costumes accompanying each production, all on a strict schedule and budget. Getting the show on the road is an exercise in organisation, management and grit.
