We all have a great idea or two lurking in our minds that if only we could share with the right people, we’re sure we could make something of.

One part talk series, two parts community forum, three parts party, Idea Bombing is an opportunity to have a two-way exchange, share ideas, and implement change. The event series encourages people to empty their heads and crowdsource creative solutions for the issues facing a city.

First launched in an underground car park in Sydney in 2013, Idea Bombing is a not-for-profit social enterprise that has since extended to independent chapters in Newcastle, the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Ontario, and Melbourne.

Bringing together diverse groups of individuals to make connections, the ‘bombs’ are similar to brainstorming. With expert speakers giving a short talk to stimulating ideas, participants then get down to action and sharing their ideas. Organisers then record the brainstorming efforts and distribute the community’s ideas directly to the decision-makers after each event.
