Working in the  performing arts and entertainment industry comes with the joy of being surrounding by what you love every day, but as studies have previously identified, it also comes with higher risks of depression and suicide.

Now two recent alleged assaults of staff working at the Sydney Theatre Company (STC) have highlighted how vulnerable and sometimes dangerous working front of house can be.

On two occasions during the summer season, ushers at STC have been assaulted by patrons. Staff have been left feeling violated, humiliated and isolated, according to the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA).
