Report on orchestral health and safety welcomed

Australia’s major symphony orchestras have welcomed a world-first report into workplace safety and the health of their musicians.

The first international report of its kind, the Sound Practice project has reported on world’s best practice in occupational health and safety for orchestral musicians.

The report was conducted collaboratively between Australia’s six major symphony orchestras – the Adelaide, Melbourne, Queensland, Sydney, Tasmanian and West Australian Symphony Orchestras – in conjunction with Orchestra Victoria and the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra.
