Bendigo poised for cultural boom

A new 1000-seat theatre is expected to have significant flow-on effects for the regional Victorian city’s arts ecology.

Built on the site of the former Sandhurst Gaol, Bendigo’s new Ulumbarra Theatre – a $26 million project developed with national, state and local government funding, as well as corporate and community fundraising – is expected to have significant benefits for the local arts ecology when it opens in mid-April.
