Fresh takes on old dramas address gendered violence

The issue of male violence against women is being powerfully addressed by theatre companies in Melbourne and Adelaide.

To be performed at the Footscray Community Arts Centre next month, Scheherazade – named after the character from 1001 Nights whose storytelling ability is the only thing that keeps her from being murdered by her husband – will employ a range of theatrical techniques in order to highlight the entrenched societal issue of violence against women.
