Music industry acts to address gender imbalance

A music industry peak body has responded to two recent reports highlighting gender inequity in the sector with plans to move towards parity.

The University of Sydney this week released a new report into gender equity in the Australian music industry.

Entitled Skipping a beat: Assessing the state of gender equality in the Australian music industry, the report found that inequity was entrenched across the live music sector.
