Adelaide Symphony Orchestra announce Principal Conductor for 2018 season.

The Adelaide Symphony Orchestra (ASO) today announced Nicholas Carter will continue as Principal Conductor for its 2018 Season.

The announcement coincides with ​Carter’s appointment as the new Chief Conductor of Stadttheater Klagenfurt and Kärntner Sinfonieorchester in Austria from September 2018 for an initial three-year term.

ASO Managing Director Vincent Ciccarello said: ‘In 2016, the ASO announced a new artistic leadership model for the orchestra, with Nicholas Carter at the helm as Principal Conductor – the first Australian to hold such a post for some 30 years.
