Afghan and Persian voices a first in programming

Blacktown Arts Centre has turned to some of the newest members of its community for a new programming initiative.

‘The Afghan community of Blacktown has grown by almost 40% since 2011,’ said Blacktown City Mayor Stephen Bali MP. In recognition of this new demographic, and in order to welcome some of the region’s latest arrivals, The Leo Kelly Blacktown Arts Centre has embarked on a major artistic engagement with Blacktown’s Afghan and Persian communities.
