The Peter Allen Songbook

John Bowles concert tribute to an Australian icon.
Monday 16 October, 11am Wollongong Town Hall

Second in our vibrant Music in the Morning line-up is the return of the wonderful John Bowles in his all new tribute to Australian icon Peter Allen.

Bowles will bring to life a collection of Peter Allen’s greatest hits including iconic songs Rio, I Honestly Love You, Quiet Please, Tenterfield Saddler plus the works of his close friends Liza Minelli and Judy Garland.

Joined onstage by Michelle Fitzmaurice, and compèred by Brian Hannan, the Peter Allen Songbook is a wonderful musical tribute to the Great Australian.

John Bowles is a great Australian performer at home on the theatre stage, in concert or behind the camera as producer. Bowles grew up on Australian TV as a young star of the enormously successful variety program Young Talent Time in the late 1970’s. With a long and diverse list of career highlights Bowles is best known for playing the lead character Raoul in The Phantom of the Opera in 2007 & 2008 as well as his narration in Cats which toured Asia and Australia. Most recently, in 2016 John presented a series of concerts paying tribute to the greats of Country Music – Country Gold was also turned into a recording, paying tribute to Glenn Campbell, Linda Ronstadt and many more...

Music in the Morning concerts spring open at 10am with a FREE* morning tea, where the audience can meet and mingle in a relaxed setting before the live music begins at 11am.
