Queensland Music Festival

SCORE IT! Composition for Film

QMF is hosting enlightening workshop for Queensland secondary school teachers presented by Matthew Christensen, Music Teacher and composer from the Queensland Academy Creative Industries Campus.

The workshop will support standards 2, 3, 6 and 7 of the Australian Professional Standards For Teachers.

When: Monday 19 February, 9:30am – 11:30am

Followed by a networking session from 11:30am – 12pm. Catering and refreshments will be provided. Please advise any dietary requirements.

Where: Level 1, QACI Campus, corner of Musk Ave & Blamey St, Kelvin Grove

Cost: FREE! RSVPs are essential.

About Matthew Christensen

Matthew joined QACI in 2013 and has relished the challenge of teaching IB Music in a world class learning environment. As a composer he has specialised in creating original high quality compositions and sound design for games with clients all over the world. In addition to lecturing in Sound Design, Composition and Audio Integration for Games for the Queensland Conservatorium of Music’s third year students, he also enjoys an exciting performing career as a freelance Saxophonist, backing world-class artists such as Kenny Rogers, Randy Newman, Ben Lee, Rhonda Burchmore, Kristen Chenoweth, Idina Menzel amongst many others.

Drawing on 20 years industry experience as a celebrated musical performer, composer and educator, Matthew will share key composition tips and demonstrations for you to assist your students’ compositions for this year’s Score IT! competition.
