Cameron James '88

Named one of’s “top 20 comics not to miss at Melbourne Comedy Festival 2017

After sell out performances at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Stand-up comedian and podcast weirdo, Cameron James is bringing his hit show to the Sydney Comedy Festival.

As host of the relatively new but instant cult hit, Mike Check, CamJam (as his twitter followers call him) has subjected himself to watching every Mike Myers film on repeat until a fourth Austin Powers comes out. Each week he and his co-host Alexei, review a Myers film, attempt to investigate who Mike Myers is (What makes him tick? Is he happy? Is he horny, baby? Etc) and come up with pitches for their much desired Austin 4. The show is funny as it is stupid, and is already attracting high profile praise with recent guests including Wil Anderson and Adam Richard, as well as radio royalty Hamish & Andy giving it a big plug on air.

Onstage CamJam is widely regarded as one of the countries brightest and most hilarious up-and-coming stand-ups. Since placing second in Triple J’s RAW Comedy National Final, he has toured national as a support for Ari Shaffir (USA), Tony Hinchcliffe (USA), Tom Green (CAN) and opened for Australian comedy legends Akmal and Dave Hughes plus was hand-picked to perform at Splendour in the Grass.

Cameron James’ 5-star debut comedy hour, ’88, is funny, clever, packed full of punchlines, and delivered with relaxed confidence. If you’re a fan of funny, well told stories (or even Austin Powers), you’d do no better than this show!

‘A warm and easy going comic, with carefully crafted stories up his sleeves ★★★★★’ – The Music

‘superb wit and charm…relaxed style and engaging delivery ★★★★’–  Funny Tonne ‘Cameron James proves himself a natural on stage: charming, confident with a good sense of comic pace and cadence’ - Chortle
