Luz y Sombra de Flamenco

Presented by Flamenkisimo Sydney

See Flamenkisimo‘s sell-out Flamenco marvel, with two exceptional dancers,
international guitarist and much more!

Flamenkisimo Sydney returns to Hobart after sell-out seasons in Sydney and Canberra. Presented in association with the Salamanca Arts Centre, Luz y Sombra de Flamenco (Flamenco: Light and Shade) is a mesmeric, no holds-barred Flamenco show featuring the creme of Australian Flamenco artists. A masterpiece, rooted in tradition that creates modern Australian Flamenco before your eyes. Luz y Sombraperuses the contrasting dynamics, tempo changes and intricate rhythms that embody Flamenco.

Returning to Hobart, after their acclaimed Entrelazar in January 2017, be captivated this time around by the magnificence of consummate dancers Chachy Peñalverand Roshanne Wijeyeratne. Be uplifted by the virtuosic guitar of Marco Van Doornum (New York), firecracker cajon percussion of Byron Mark and euphonic Flamenco sounds of Zoe Velez.

Don’t miss your chance to see this UNESCO listed (Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity) art-form – Flamenco!

“Chachy… the effect was electrifying, like holes being punched in the music and then filled with a dazzling flourish.”
