Iaki Vallejo at Kew Court House

Blending funk, jazz and soul, Iaki Vallejo has captured the ears of discerning listeners worldwide and now brings her rich, energizing, Afro-Colombian rhythms to the Kew Court House for one night only.

Iaki was born amongst the sounds of drums, chants, dances and vinyl records in Colombia. She grew up in a hood where the neighbours listened to loud music every day, and being lulled to sleep at night by the street’s music was very common. Music is one of the greatest riches of her nation, an intrinsic part of being Colombian.

Charisma and power are key words to describe Iaki’s performances and her strong energy and voice combined with her sensual dancing inspire audiences to take to the dance floor.

For this show she will be performing with some of Melbourne’s best Latin jazz musicians on Latin-style horns, bass, guitar, tambora, marimba, conunos, kalimba (traditional percussion) and melodies.
