Liberian Boy: An intimate musical sojourn introducing a new talent, nineteen-year-old singer songwriter Melody Napoleon Gbiadiah and vocal duo, sisters Tangata Paea and Fokoaha Tupou.
Liberian Boy launches the new Oxygen Studio “north of the Bell Street border”.
Melody will share his songs about justice, the street and soul music and the Tupou sisters will impress with their vocals and soaring harmonies. Joining them are Milad Norouzi (Vocals) and Melbourne music stalwarts Natasha Hanna (Violin), Dan Witton (Double Bass, Vocals) and Mark Grunden (Percussion).
“Melody is a great new talent. His voice and songs are poignant and memorable with echoes of Tracy Chapman and Bob Marley and the sisters Tangata Paea and Fokoaha meld gospel, Pacifica music and R&B effortlessly with a vocal charm that is sublime.”

Outer Urban Projects is a bold performing arts company that creates new forms of contemporary performance imagined from the life experiences of young emerging artists from the outer northern suburbs. The company gives voice to the unexpressed aspirations and creative potential of ghettoised, culturally diverse emerging artists whose origins span five continents.
Liberian Boy is supported by the Australia Council for the Arts, Creative Victoria, Inner North Community Foundation and Moreland Youth Services.
