Diverse young musicians take to the stage on KickstART Festival Day

Celebrating Youth Week WA in the heart of the Perth Cultural Centre for the eighth consecutive year, the KickstART Festival Day on Saturday 14 April will feature: over 10 hours of live music from WA’s freshest acts; opportunities to discover local emerging artists and designers; plus a unique array of free workshops, exhibitions, installations and activities for everyone to enjoy.

“This is an amazing opportunity for the incredible talents of young people to be showcased in the Perth Cultural Centre,” said Zal Kanga-Parabia, the Creative Coordinator for this year’s Youth Week WA KickstART Festival.

“The theme for Youth Week WA - along with the overall programming guidance for KickstART in general - comes from our Youth Week WA Planning Committee,” said Jamie McGleave, Operations Manager at Propel Youth Arts WA.

“Young people have a direct say on the bands, workshops, forums, exhibitions and other activities that we program throughout the Festival. KickstART is specifically crafted to provide a platform for young people to explore their endless potential.”

Festival Day is just one part of the Youth Week WA KickstART Festival, a yearly celebration of young people and their positive contributions to our community. KickstART offers free workshops, forums, performances, exhibitions, and more activities from Friday 13 until Sunday 22 April 2018.

The Youth Week WA KickstART Festival is presented by Propel Youth Arts WA, and is funded by the State Government of Western Australia. KickstART is also supported by Lotterywest and theMetropolitan Redevelopment Authority.
