EXCLUSIVE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY
Special Guest Artists: Davy and Kristin McGuire, United Kingdom
Spare Parts Puppet Theatre is offering a limited number of places for a unique two-week, training intensive with acclaimed augmented reality artists Davy and Kristin McGuire.
This is a rare opportunity to learn from extraordinary artists, whose work spans puppetry, moving image, theatre and installation.
Participants will explore the techniques used in the Helpmann Award winning theatre show The Paper Architect (Best Visual Theatre production, 2015), building small scale theatre sets from paper dioramas and found objects, devising scenes and learning the techniques to map projection onto the dioramas.
Short scenes in which workshop participants interact with projected characters will be created with opportunities to refine and develop over the fortnight, leading to a showing of short works at the conclusion of the workshop.
Professional puppetry, theatre, visual, interdisciplinary and screen artists will find much to explore over two weeks.
