Seeking artists based in Brisbane, Australia for the following:
Kimberly: 25-35, strong singer and actor, strong belter to a D.
Has been in a long term “on again off again” relationship with Bill, a man she cares for but can’t seem to understand. Her confidence, humour and flippant views on love, hide a deeper insecurity. She believes that Bill’s close relationship with his family and Mother prevent them from developing a deeper bond. Endearing. Genuine. Honest.
James: 25-35, strong singer and actor, rock baritenor (needs a solid F#)
Has lived on the couch for three months with video games, beer and the film franchise ‘Rocky.’ Despite his ‘life is great’ persona, he is at a crossroads, unable to accept or verbally recognise his greatest fear. He believes he is trapped and belittled by his older brothers ‘success,’ but grows to embrace his own individuality and freedom. Comic. Loveable. Ability to play basic guitar a bonus but not a requirement.
Performers will be asked to present a song of their own choice - we suggest contemporary musical theatre in the style of the show sung with an Australian accent.
Expression of interest can be made to email@example.com including:
• Vocal Range
• Preferred times on Monday 18th March**
**We will do our best to accomodate these but can’t guarantee you will be offered them.
Video auditions will also be accepted, though we strongly recommend attending in person.
About the show:
Becoming Bill is an award winning new Australian musical about a family turned upside down. When Bill an out of work actor is asked to write a musical, he foolishly bases it on himself and those around him, upsetting the delicate balance in their family home, unburdening truths they had each hidden.
Studio Recordings from the musical can be found here:
