Queensland Touring Showcase Online 2020 will provide opportunities for Queensland artists and producers to pitch a specific production or provide a company update focussing on your wider touring or regional engagement strategies.
This year, the Showcase format will be a live videoconference between Queensland presenters and producers from across Queensland. The event is designed to be more of a conversation space than a straight pitching session. The short list of productions will be sent out to presenters in early October so venue mangers/programmers can review the information about each show on the arTour website before the online meeting.
Queensland Artists and Producers (independents, small to medium organisations, major performing arts companies) are welcome to apply. We strongly encourage producers living in regional Queensland, Indigenous producers and artists of diversity to apply. Artforms can range from theatre, dance, music, opera, cabaret, circus. If your show is ready to tour in 2022 then we'd love to hear from you. Please contact hello@arTour.com.au to discuss your work and the Queensland Touring Showcase online process.
Producers and Artists from states other than Queensland or International are not eligible to apply for Queensland Touring Showcase in 2020.
If you have multiple works for touring, would like to find regional co-presenters or commissioning partners, or would like to discuss your regional strategies, you may like to consider providing a company update to the presenters at Showcase. This option would suit small to medium organisations. If you have multiple works, you will still need to create a profile for each production on the arTour website. Express interest in providing a company update at Showcase.
APPLY FOR A COMPANY UPDATE
If you have a specific work for touring in 2022 or beyond, we encourage you to create a profile for the show on the arTour website. It is fine if your show is still in development or hasn’t yet premiered. Read more about how to submit your production.

Production applications should be able to demonstrate the following
Rigour / Quality
The production is well conceived and put together. Please consider artform development or audience engagement / access that is unique and/or effective.
The production and engagement offerings sit apart from and are different to other shows of a similar ilk or form. What makes your production distinct? Please consider your approach to storytelling, form and adaptability to different presenting contexts such as festivals and annual programs.
The production will have strong appeal to a well-defined audience segment or demographic. It may consider audience development opportunities, boutique tastes right through to broad crossover appeal.
Value and tourability
The production is ready for touring in 2022, is reasonably priced and represents a sound programming investment for presenters as well as the producer’s capacity.
Due to the ever-changing climate, productions that demonstrate flexibility will be prioritised. Can the production be scaled up or down to suit audience sizes? Can it be performed in alternative venues? Can it be performed outdoors? Is it scalable?
Once submissions close an independent panel comprising of Queensland presenters, producers and industry partners will review all of the submissions and shortlist work to be considered at Queensland Touring Showcase Online and Roadcase. Approximately 20 productions or companies will be invited to participate. You will be notified by early September if your submission has been shortlisted.
