APPLICATIONS FOR FEB–MAY CREATIVE DEVELOPMENTS CLOSE FRI 10 JAN
Platform will provide the resources for emerging artists to develop their own performance projects, by providing four weeks in-kind venue hire, a $500 bursary and supported public outcomes as part of our Open Studio program.
Our Creative Development Program was formed out of a need to have an ongoing program that supports artists as they take creative risks and to help them transition into a more sustainable practice. The Bloomshed was one of our 2019 creative development recipients and is now a company in residence at Platform. Read more about The Bloomshed.
We are interested in working with theatre makers, visual artists, musicians or composers, dancers or choreographers, filmmakers, writers, publishers, producers, curators, poets or animators – tell us who you are and why you’re interested in creating live performance.
We describe emerging artists as those who are 26 years old and younger, or are in the first five years of their practice. Artists who are mid-career or established are welcome to apply, but the application must center emerging artists in the making of the work.
Successful projects will receive the following:
$500 seed funding towards material costs
In-kind venue hire (up to five weeks)
In-kind technical support and producing support
In-kind marketing and publicity support
Assistance in accessing support from local arts organisations (e.g. access to Geelong Library and Heritage Centre’s archives and collections for research).
