Louise Crossley Conducting Workshop

Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra

About the Course

An opportunity to inspire and engage women conductors

The Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra announces a conductor training opportunity, with a focus on female conductors to be directed by Elena Schwarz.

Named in honour of the late Dr Louise Crossley, whose 2015 bequest was intended to develop and identify opportunities for female conductors, the Louise Crossley Conducting Workshop will take place in Hobart on September 28, 2019.  Participants will benefit from an intensive workshop with Elena Schwarz, Associate Conductor of the TSO, and an opportunity to work through repertoire with two pianists.

Observers of any gender are encouraged, and welcome to attend free of charge. Please contact Jenny Compton if you would like to attend as an observer: comptonj@tso.com.au

The Louise Crossley Conducting Workshop 2019 is open for applications from May 21 to June 21, 5pm.
A maximum of six female applicants will be selected to participate. Apply online below.
