As a 100% volunteer organisation, EFFA would literally not exist without its highly dedicated volunteers. Each year an amazing, reliable team of volunteers hosts the festival on the ground. Volunteering is a great way to support the festival, gain work experience with one of Melbourne’s most notable enviro-conscious cultural events, make new connections and enjoy complimentary passes to films.
Volunteers are required to assist with the on-site delivery of film screening events across Cinema Nova, Palace Westgarth and other venues. Film screening events will include Opening Night, filmmaker Q&As and panel discussions and a Closing Night event.
Volunteer roles include:
Customer service, including welcoming and ushering festival goers
Liaising with panellists and special guests
Assisting with set up and pack down at special events.
Each volunteer will receive one film ticket per shift. Volunteers will need to commit to 2-4 shifts throughout the duration of the eight-day festival (held Thursday 24 October to Friday 1 November).
Please note that certain events will require volunteers to hold a Working with Children certificate.
To apply to volunteer at EFFA 2019 events, please complete our volunteer registration form online, and include details of your relevant experience as well as your availability.
Applications close Friday 20 September.
