Since before William Blake penned his diatribe against the ‘dark Satanic mills’ of Albion in the 1700s, artists have been talking about environmental destruction.
But as the climate crisis has intensified over the past decades, many people have turned to art to spark action. Guy Abraham, co-founder of CLIMARTE: Arts For A Safe Climate, said in ArtsHub in 2015 that ‘art offers a different point of entry, providing a space for us to engage on an emotional and instinctual, as well as rational, level.’
