Next week, on November 10, The Melbourne Prize Trust will announce the winner of the Melbourne Prize for Music.

For the five finalists the lead up to the presentation evening may well be cause for a few jittery nerves. Finalist Brett Dean, speaking with Artshub from Germany where he is rehearsing with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra says being part of the line up is quite an honour. So much so he says that his elder daughter is very interested in attending the presentation, ‘not because she’s so much interested in seeing how Dad gets on, but because there’ll be so many famous people there.’.
