What can be done to strengthen Brisbane’s vibrant independent theatre sector and prevent local talent from moving away?

Brisbane is constantly described as being on the brink of making it big.

In ArtsHub’s recent Cultural Capitals series, Megan Starr-Thomas, Creative Director of The Brisbane Collective, described Brisbane as ‘a small country town at heart but [with] the attitude of a jealous little sister’. In the latest issue of ArtAsiaPacific, the bi-monthly magazine covering contemporary art and culture in Asia, the Pacific and the Middle East, describes Brisbane as a city that seems ‘seems perennially on the cusp’.
