In this Australian Premier of Opera Queensland’s (OperaQ) production of Verdi’s Rigoletto, sex and scandal find a contemporary match with a world where corporate powerbrokers mix with hookers, pole dancers, and tattooed thugs.

Opera has always enjoyed the big stories of corruption, intrigue and murder, so why not replace the candlelit dinners and palace settings with something a bit more “now”.
