In our industrialised, digitally mediated age, death is no longer a part of life. Rituals of mourning are hidden away in sterile rooms. While we’re now familiar with the stages of grieving thanks to the work of Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, there’s an assumption that grief is something we should do in private, away from the prying eyes of the world.
