Described by critics as ‘a remarkable young dancer’ and ‘a quick-fire performer’, Chengwu Guo has been promoted to The Australian Ballet’s highest rank of Principal Artist.

The company’s Artistic Director, David McAllister AM made the surprise announcement onstage at the Sydney Opera House on Monday night, during the curtain call of the closing performance of La Sylphide. Guo’s proud parents were secretly flown in from Melbourne to experience this milestone moment in their son’s ballet career.
