SSO appoints inaugural Artist in Residence

Conductor, composer and violist Brett Dean will be Artist in Residence at the Sydney Symphony for three years from 2016.

A former Artistic Director of the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) as well as an internationally recognised composer, conductor and violist, Brett Dean will take up his new position with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra (SSO) in 2016.

Keenly attuned to developments and trends in contemporary composition, Dean will work closely with Chief Conductor and Artistic Director David Robertson throughout the residency, acting as a resource on international and Australian contemporary music.
