Albini, a Chicago-based musician whose band Shellac recently celebrated 20 years of performing and recording, is the first keynote speaker announced for Face the Music, a music industry conference to be held at Arts Centre Melbourne over 14-15 November.

Having engineered over 1,500 albums, and worked with such seminal musicians  and bands as Nirvana, the Pixies, PJ Harvey and The Stooges, Albini is widely respected in the live music industry. He is also a champion of independent business models which allow artists to release their work outside of the corporate music industry structure.
