Last week, Columbia University visual arts student, Emma Sulkowicz, began ‘Mattress Performance or Carry that Weight’, a performance art piece for her senior thesis project in which the artist is carrying a double-bed mattress to her classes around campus until the university administration expel her alleged rapist.
