There’s an auspicious history to desert festivals. Held in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert, the Burning Man Festival began in 1986 and has transformed into a year-round cultural event. Tennant Creek’s Desert Harmony Festival recently celebrated its quarter century. And in its eighth year, the Alice Desert Festival, running from 10-14 September, is developing its own loyal following.
