Awards season heats up in Sydney, Brisbane and Tasmania

Sydney Theatre Awards announced as Queensland’s Matilda Awards and Tasmanian Theatre Awards reveal nominations.

The 2018 Sydney Theatre Awards, recognising the city’s best professional theatre productions as voted on by a collective of critics, were presented at the Seymour Centre on Monday night, in a ceremony attended by hundreds of the Sydney theatre community.

Nominations for the Matilda Awards – Brisbane’s premier awards for the performing arts – were revealed on Tuesday, while nominees for the 2019 Tasmanian Theatre Awards were also recently announced.
