For whom the Bell doesn’t pay

The call for an unpaid Photographer in Residence to document Bell Shakespeare’s 25th anniversary year has been met with anger and concern.

Update: On Friday afternoon Bell Shakespeare announced the cancellation of the Photographer in Residence program and reaffirmed their commitment to valuing all artists.

Freelance photographers and other members of the arts sector, as well as the Media and Entertainment Arts Alliance have called on Bell Shakespeare to rethink their decision to employ an unpaid Photographer in Residence for a year to document the company’s 2015 season.
