Lifetime achievement award for Patricia Cornelius at Green Room Awards

Just weeks after winning US $165,000 (AUD $234,000) in the Windham-Campbell Prize for drama, the Melbourne playwright has been honoured for her contribution to Australian theatre.

Recognising outstanding professional work on Melbourne’s stages in 2018, the 36th annual Green Room Awards were presented at the Comedy Theatre on Monday night (1 April).

Playwright Patricia Cornelius was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, in recognition of her body of work and contribution to Melbourne’s independent theatre sector. The award follows hot on the heels of the US $165,000 (AUD $234,000) Windham-Campbell Prize for drama, presented to Cornelius just a few weeks ago.
