Malthouse Theatre casts a long Shadow

The company’s Indigenous retelling of King Lear will tour to London thanks to $50,000 from the Victorian Government.

First presented at the 2013 Melbourne Festival, Malthouse Theatre’s The Shadow King will have a 2016 season at London’s Barbican Centre, it was announced today.

Victoria’s Minister for Creative Industries, Martin Foley, confirmed funding of $50,000 to support the award-winning production’s international premiere.
