The Orchestra currently rehearses in  the former Army Band Barracks in Albert Park, a  heritage-listed site which is earmarked for the new South Melbourne Park Primary School.

It is one of two new schools planned for the area, whose existing schools are struggling to deal with overcrowding, according to a report by the ABC earlier this year.
