Australian design, teen program at AGSA, State Library of Victoria reopening, Blak LAB, National Portrait Prize and more.

Iconic Australian industrial design objects will be showcased 12-27 October at seminal architect Robin Boyd’s mid-century residence ‘Walsh Street/Boyd II’ in Melbourne. Part exhibition, part installation, the chosen objects reflect the accessible and egalitarian Australian approach to modernism, in addition to highlighting contemporary household objects used today.

Australian’s most celebrated designers and their work will be featured: Grant and Mary Featherston,Stuart Devlin, Susan Cohn, Clement Meadmore, Helen Kontouris, Joyce Coffey and Marc Newson. Winners of the Prince Philip Prize for Australian Design such as the Wiltshire Staysharp knife, the Sabco timer tap, and the Décor BYO wine cooler will be displayed in typical household locations and uses for visitors to discover and explore.
