The award-winning annual Marathon event presented by 3MBS Fine Music Melbourne returns to Melbourne Recital Centre!
3MBS Fine Music Melbourne dedicates the 2019 Dvořák Marathon to the memory of Dr. Milan Kantor.
Across six concerts in a single day, the Dvořák Marathon presents a mix of best and lesser-known chamber music works including a vast collection of solo piano music written by famous Czech composer, Antonín Dvořák. Program highlights will include a performance of the Stabat Mater and Symphony No. 9.
This exciting event will feature performances by Royal Melbourne Philharmonic, members of the Australian Octet, Christian Li and Laurence Matheson, Orava Quartet, Stefan Cassomenos, Tristan Lee, Calvin Bowman, Elyane Laussade and many more.
The Dvořák Marathon also includes a dedicated Youth Program held in the Primrose Potter Salon featuring From the New World – Introducing Dvořák (11.00am & 12.30pm) and a masterclass series (2.00pm, 3.00pm & 4.00pm).
