Caught between passionate love and a longing for freedom, Carmen must face her fate in Bizet’s most popular opera.
Carmen is irrepressible and enchanting; the femme fatale you can’t forget. Don José is captivated by her sensual Habanera, giving up everything to follow her. But Carmen cannot be contained. Her wandering eye has already found a new lover: the dashing bullfighter Escamillo.
Don José’s jealousy is fierce, Escamillo’s desire is strong, and in a gripping finale, Carmen is met with a tragic choice.
This new production features gorgeous sets and vintage-inspired costumes, highlighting the colour and vibrancy of the opera’s Spanish setting.
