The Courtly Arts Performers of Victoria

The European Courtier - a performance of early music and dance [BRIGHTON]

The Courtly Arts Performers bring alive music and dance from a more chivalrous era.

Our May concerts focus on “The European Courtier” – Baldassare Castiglione. Born around 1480 near Mantua, he personified and, through his writings, defined the noble aspirations of a gentleman, and the aspirations of noble behaviour for the next 400 years.

Our performance follows Signore Castiglione as he discovered the Courts of Renaissance Europe through their music and dance. From Italy to England, Spain to Germany, each has their own unique character, brought alive by the Courtly Arts Performers with sumptuous authentic costumes and period instruments.

The performance starts at 2pm and runs for approximately 1 hour.

Tickets are $20, and $15 for students, seniors and groups of more than 5
