After a sell-out concert ‘Tafelmusik’ in February, Arts in the Valley presents another morning concert of woodwind chamber music at the Kangaroo Valley Hall.
The wealth and colourful variety of village life resounds in ‘Rustiques’, a collection of music rich in harmonic colouring and undulating rhythms. In a one-hour intimate recital, the vibrant constellation of four woodwind soloists beautifully evokes pastoral fields and lazy summer breezes, spritely gigues and rêveries of the French countryside, and the youthful rondos and peasant dances of Eastern Europe.
The concert brings together four young professionals, friends and colleagues, who enjoy playing chamber music together. Their ensemble comprises musicians based both locally and interstate, connected through tertiary studies, orchestral work, world travels, chance encounters and long-standing friendships. They are united by both their personal connections and a collective musical spirit.
Brimming with influences from around the globe, ‘Rustiques’ promises an hour of works that are robust in flavour and unapologetically cheerful in disposition.
The concert will be organised in accordance with prevailing NSW Health COVID Safe regulations. Tickets are now on sale via artsinthevalley.net.au/music.
