This summer week-long intensive will provide artists with an exciting approach to acting and stagecraft. A highly practical workshop, participants will train in the core principles of The Suzuki Method of Actor Training, Laban Movement Analysis and Viewpoints, and will examine their application to staging text. Ideal for performers, theatre makers or educators who want to hone their physical and vocal expression and discover the full expressive potential of the actor’s body.
Morning sessions will focus on Suzuki and Laban, and will be led virtually via Zoom with guest artist, Kelly Maurer of the SITI Company and Atlantic Theater Company, and Tina Mitchell, Co-Artistic Director of Chopt Logic. Both Kelly and Tina will be joining from New York City. These sessions will be supported by Chopt Logic Co-Artistic Director, Shane Anthony and Associate Artist, Julia Billington, providing assistance live in the room.
Afternoon sessions will focus on training in Viewpoints for performance and the creation of new work, and will be led by Shane Anthony and Julia Billington.
Suitable for artists with mixed levels of experience with these training forms.
