Babies Proms: A Live Music Experience for the Whole Family

An interactive, live music experience for the whole family is coming to The Music Lounge!

Talented local ensemble Clear Strings (Renae Pinazza, Kyle Little, Sefora Cohut, Miffy Ryan, Rita Woolhouse & Adrian Whitehall) will celebrate a classic Christmas tradition when they perform the music from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, combined with magical storytelling and a fascinating introduction to the world of string instruments.

The show is directed and narrated by Renae, a music educator with over 20 years’ experience, who is currently working at UOW whilst undertaking her PhD in Early Years Music Education. After researching the benefits of music to developmental outcomes for children she has designed an engaging concert that gets the whole family performing, listening and moving.

“I wanted to design a performance that introduced young children to the Orchestral String Family,” says Renae.  “It has been shown that early interactive experiences can help foster a life-long love of music – so it’s important that they are exposed to high quality, engaging and exciting experiences early on. This isn’t a sit down and be quiet show – but a big opportunity for kids and families to move their bodies, dance to the music and enjoy getting involved!”

Children aged 6 months to 8 years old will love this fun and engaging performance, capturing their hearts, minds and imagination.
