Described by Australian Jazz as “one of the most creative and restless musicians in the Australian jazz scene,” saxophonist Jeremy Rose is an impressive and vibrant artist who has released over a dozen original albums and collaborated with many of the world’s most highly respected jazz musicians. Rose’s projects include the ARIA nominated and Australian Music Prize shortlisted The Vampires, The Strides, The Jeremy Rose Quartet, Compass Saxophone Quartet and the Earshift Orchestra. Rose has also received numerous awards including two Bell Awards, an APRA Professional Development Award, runner up at the National Jazz Awards saxophone competition and is a three-time Art Music Award finalist for Excellence in Jazz. As an individual intrigued by the expanding dialogues between music idioms, Rose tirelessly advocates jazz and creative music through his own label, Earshift Music.
Jeremy has performed at festivals, venues and concert halls throughout Australia, Europe and the UK. In 2016, Jeremy curated the inaugural APRA SongHub for Jazz in Berlin with US guitar luminary Kurt Rosenwinkel, and was guest soloist-composer with both the Sydney Conservatorium of Music’s Modern Music Ensemble and Jazz Orchestra. In 2017, Jeremy was selected for the prestigious Art OMI Residency in New York.
