Tiffany Eckhardt and Anne Toner : Double CD Launch

Presented by the Cygnet Folk Festival

A night of stories and songs with two Huon Valley Songwriters, Tiffany Eckhardt and Anne Toner, as they launch their CDs to the world!

Award winning folk/roots songwriter, Tiffany Eckhardt has written and recorded nine successful independent releases. As a songwriter and performer, she has been adopted by the folk/roots, festival scene in Australia as a firm favourite, receiving rave reviews and radio airplay across the country. Tiffany’s new album Found was inspired by her move to southern Tasmania 4 years ago.

“It’s a very beautiful part of the world and I can now say I feel very blessed to live here, though for the first couple of years, I was very homesick”, Tiffany said. “The songs on Found are about this journey of change, some sadness but a lot of joy too, a reflection and celebration of finding ourselves and our feet in this new land.“My songs are greatly influenced by love of the natural environment, my interest in the human spirit, my family and also my furry and feathered animal friends (of which we have many!).”

Tiffany will be joined on stage by guitarist Dave Steel, fiddle player Ross Smithardand Graeme Beer on bass.

Anne Toner is launching her long awaited debut CD, Spinifex. Anne is a talented songwriter and piano player and although she has been performing in pubs and clubs for many years, this is her first album of original songs.

Spinifex features musicians Dave Steel and Tiffany Eckhardt and Pete Rowland and was recorded partly by Dave Steel in Castle Forbes Bay and partly by Pete Rowland in Dalesford Victoria.  Her songs are inspired by love, life, family and life in Tasmania.

She will be performing with Brian Gamble on drums and special guests.
